Chandrashekhar Nayaka (IAS) appointed as OSD to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

IAS officer Chandrashekhar Nayaka has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Chandrashekhar Nayaka L (IAS) as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday. Nayaka is a 2013 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre.

According to an official communication issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Nayaka will assume the role at the level of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. His appointment will be effective for a period of four years from the date he takes charge, or on a co-terminus basis with the tenure of the Minister, or until further orders—whichever is earlier.

The Government of Karnataka has been requested to relieve him of his present responsibilities with immediate effect to enable him to take up the new assignment.
