Charulata Somal (IAS) appointed as Deputy Secretary in DoPT

The Central Government on Thursday approved the appointment of Charulata Somal (IAS) as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)

New Delhi: Charulata Somal (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Personnel Ministry. The Central Government has approved the appointment of Somal on Thursday. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Somal has been appointed to the post for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Somal is a 2012-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Karnataka cadre.

"She may kindly be relived of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)," the order further reads.
