New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr Anju Rathi Rana, an officer of the Indian Legal Service (ILS), as the Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Law and Justice.
According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Rana will serve in the role for an initial period of two years from the date of assuming office or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Dr Rana, who previously held the position of Additional Secretary in the Department of Legal Affairs, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her elevation to Secretary is expected to strengthen the department’s legal advisory and legislative functions, contributing to key legal reforms and policy-making initiatives.
