Dr Vivek Joshi (IAS) gets additional charge as Border Management Secretary

New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the assignment of an additional charge of the post of Secretary of Department of Border Management to Dr Vivek Joshi (IAS). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has been given additional charge of the post with immediate effect and till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Joshi is a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Haryana cadre. He is currently posted as Registrar General and Census Commissioner under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Department of Border Management is a department under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The Department is responsible for dealing with the management of borders, including coastal borders, strengthening of border guarding and creation of related infrastructure, border areas development, etc.
