New Delhi: Gopinatha Kaiwara Venkateshappa (IRTS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. He is an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) from the 2008 batch, and was recommended for the Central deputation by the Ministry of Railways.

Acccording to an order issued from the Departmet of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Venkateshappa's appointment falls under the Central Staffing Scheme and will be effective for a term of five years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
