Govt appoints Chandra Mohan Singh (IRS) as PS to MoS Shantanu Thakur

According to a Personnel Ministry's order, Thakur has been appointed to the post at the level of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Chandra Mohan Singh (IRS) as Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways Shantanu Thakur. According to a Personnel Ministry's order issued on October 15, Thakur has been appointed to the post at the level of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.

Thakur is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2013-batch.

Singh will serve in this capacity until January 14, 2028, marking the maximum allowable tenure of seven years away from his cadre, in line with Government regulations. His appointment is effective from the date he assumes charge of the post or will be co-terminus with the tenure of the minister, or until he ceases to function in this role.
