Govt appoints Himanshu Gupta (IAS) as CBSE Secretary

IAS officer Himanshu Gupta has been appointed as Secretary of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday

New Delhi: The Central Government on Thursday approved the appointment of Himanshu Gupta (IAS) for the post of Secretary of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Gupta has been appointed to the post for four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Gupta is a 2012 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of AGMUT cadre. Presently, he is posted as Director (Education) in the Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi. “He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment,” the order further read.
