Govt appoints Namdeo Rabade as Chief Electrical Inspector for Maha Metro

The government has appointed Namdeo Rabade as the Chief Electrical Inspector to government for the Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project, also known as Maha Metro

New Delhi: The government has appointed Namdeo Rabade as the Chief Electrical Inspector to government for the Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project, also known as Maha Metro. In a notification published in the official gazette on May 7, the Ministry of Power said, "… —in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of section 162 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (36 of 2003) read with Qualifications, Powers and Functions for Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspectors Rules, 2006 (herein after called the said Rules) notified on 17.08.2006 and as amended on 16.05.2016, the Central Government hereby appoints following officer of Maha Metro (Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project) as Chief Electrical Inspector to Government for Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project, from the date of this notification till the end of his tenure in Maha Metro (Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project) or till further orders, whichever is earlier, subject to fulfilment of the qualifications and conditions…"

Rabade is currently serving as Executive Director (Electrical) of Maha Metro, said the notification.

Rabade has been appointed in the place of Dr PC Sehgal, Sr Advisor, Navi Mumbai Metro Line-1, who is no longer available with the organisation. "The above-mentioned officer shall exercise the powers and perform his functions in respect of electrical works, electrical installations and electrical rolling stock in operation within the areas occupied by the Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project or in respect of works and electrical installations under the control of Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project/belonging to Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project as per the procedure provided in Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electricity Supply) Regulations, 2010, as amended from time to time," said the notification.

"It shall be ensured that the above-mentioned officer of Maha Project (Navi Mumbai Metro Rail Project) does not function as the Chief Electrical Inspector in respect of any electrical work or installation, the execution or maintenance of which is his responsibility. The person appointed as Chief Electrical Inspector shall undergo such training as the Central Government may consider necessary for the purpose and such training shall have to be completed to the satisfaction of the Government," the notification added.
