Govt approves several Secretary-level appointments on Wed

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of several officers at the Secretary level in the various Ministries and Department on Wednesday

New Delhi: In a significant bureaucratic level reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointments of several officers at the Secretary level in the various Ministries and Department on Wednesday. Here is the list of newly appointed officers:

Rachna Shah (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.

Shah is a 1991-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre. Presently, she is serving as Secretary of Ministry of Textile.

Arunish Chawla (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance. Chawla is 1992-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre. Presently, he is serving as Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers.

Chawla, in additional to his newly assigned role, will continue to hold the additional charge of Secretary of the Ministry of Culture till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders whichever is earlier.

Vineet Joshi (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education. He is a 1992-batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre.

Sanjay Sethi (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities under the Ministry of Minority Affairs. He is 1992-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre.

Neelam Shami Rao (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary in the Ministry of Textile. She is 1992-batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre. Presently, she is serving as Secretary of the National Commission for Minorities.

Amit Agrawal (IAS) has been appointed as Secretary of the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. He is 1993-batch IAS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. Presently, he is posted as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIADI).

Neerja Sekhar (IAS) has been appointed as Director General of National Productivity Council under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in the rank of Secretary to the Govt by temporarily upgrading the post. He is 1993-batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre.
