Gurmeet Singh (IRAS) appointed as Additional Director General of ASI

Ministry of Culture's Joint Secretary Gurmeet Singh (IRAS) has been given additional charge as Additional Director General (Admn) of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI)

New Delhi:  Gurmeet Singh (IRS) has been given additional charge as Additional Director General (Admn) of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Singh is an Indian Railways Account Service (IRAS) officer of 1998-batch. Presently, he is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been given additional charge of the post for a period of six months or till appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is an Indian government agency that is responsible for archaeological research and the conservation and preservation of cultural historical monuments in the country.
