New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Harish Singh Papola, an Indian Railway Personnel Finance Service (IRPFS) officer of the 2015 batch, as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on December 15,Papola has been appointed as OSD in the Ministry of Communications at the level of Deputy Secretary. The appointment will be for a period up to August 10, 2028, which is the maximum admissible tenure of seven years away from his parent cadre.

The tenure will be effective from the date Papola assumes charge of the post and will be on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until he ceases to function as OSD to the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
