The Govt has approved the re-designation of Himanshu Roy (IRS) from Deputy Secretary to Director in the Department of Pharmaceuticals

New Delhi: The Competent Authority has approved the re-designation of Himanshu Roy (IRS) from Deputy Secretary to Director in the Department of Pharmaceuticals. This change is personal to him and will be effective from the date of his assumption of charge.

Roy is a 2011-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Roy will serve in the re-designated role until September 4, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The move reflects the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within key departments.

The Department of Pharmaceuticals, under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, plays a crucial role in shaping policies for the growth and regulation of the pharmaceutical sector in India.
