New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Ishtiyaque Ahmed (IRS) for the post of Senior Adviser in the NITI Aayog on Friday. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post under the Knowledge Innovation Hub (KIH) in the area of Industrial Policy and Foreign Investment.

Ahmed is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. Presently, he is posted as Commissioner of Income Tax (OSD) in the office of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi.

The NITI Aayog serves as the apex public policy think tank of the Government. It is a nodal agency tasked with catalyzing economic development, and fostering cooperative federalism through the involvement of State Governments of India in the economic policy-making process using a bottom-up approach.
