Kaushlendra Pratap Singh appointed as DS in Defence Ministry

New Delhi: Kaushlendra Pratap Singh (ITS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Singh has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Singh is an Indian Trade Service (ITS) officer of 2011-batch. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Defence," the order further added.

Ministry of Defence (MoD)

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) is charged with coordinating and supervising all agencies and functions of the government relating directly to national security and the Indian armed forces. The President of India is the ceremonial commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the country. The Ministry of Defence provides policy framework and resources to the armed forces to discharge their responsibility in the context of the defence of the country.
