New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Killi Mohana Rao as Principal Officer (Engineering)-cum-Joint Director General (Technical) in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai under the Ministry of Shipping. He has been appointed on the post on direct recruitment basis, for a period with effect from the date assumption of charge of the post and until further orders. He is currently serving as Engineer & Ship Surveyor-cum Deputy Director General (Technical), Mercantile Marine Department, Chennai.

Directorate General of Shipping (DGS)

The Directorate General of Shipping (DGS), India is an attached office under the Ministry of Shipping. It is responsible for life, health, vessel and the environment for Indian registered ships and ships at Indian ports. The directorate is located in Mumbai and led by Director General of Shipping Amitabh Kumar (IRS) and Additional Secretary to the government of India.
