Krishna Kumar Pilli (ITS) set to be Director in Pharmaceuticals Department

New Delhi: Krishna Kumar Pilli (ITS) has been selected for the appointment of a Director in the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, on Wednesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Pilli has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme, New Delhi for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Pilli is an Indian Telecom Services (ITS) officer of 1993-batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Telecommunications.

Education

Pilli is an engineering graduate (BTech) from College of Engineering Osmania and masters in engineering (MTech) from IIT-Madras. He also did the postgraduate programme in Public Policy & Management from IIM-Bangalore and an MBA from Osmania University. He has more than 25 years of experience in the telecom sector.

Department of Pharmaceuticals 

The Department of Pharmaceuticals was created on the July 1, in the year 2008 in the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers with the objective to give greater focus and thrust on the development of the pharmaceutical sector in the country and to regulate various complex issues related to pricing and availability of medicines at affordable prices, research & development, protection of intellectual property rights and international commitments related to the pharmaceutical sector which required integration of work with other Ministries.
