Kuldiep Singh (IPS) is new Director CRPF & MA Ganapathy (IPS) is new DG NSG

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Kuldiep Singh (IPS) as Director of CRPF and MA Ganapathy (IPS) as DG of NSG

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the appointment of Kuldiep Singh (IPS) as Director-General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). According to the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) order, Singh has been elevated to the post for a period with effect from the date of joining the post and up to September 30, 2022, i.e. date of his superannuation, or till further orders. With this assignment, Singh will replace Dr AP Maheshwari (IPS), who has superannuated on February 28.

Singh is a 1986-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the West Bengal cadre. He is currently serving as Special Director General of the same central armed police force. He was also holding the additional charge as DG of CRPF since the post fell vacant after Maheshwari's retirement.

Further, ACC has also approved the appointment of MA Ganapathy (IPS) as Director-General of National Security Guard (DG of NSG), an elite counter-terrorism unit under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. According to the DoPT order, Ganapathy has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of joining the post and up to February 29, 2024, i.e. date of his superannuation, or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ganapathy is also a 1986-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre. He is currently serving as Director-General of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). He is a recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in the year 2002 and the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service in the year 2010. He is also an alumnus of the National Defence College, Delhi.
