The Central Government on Thursday has approved the appointment of Mahendra Kumar Meena (IAS) as Private Secretary to Anupriya Patel in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry

New Delhi: The Central Government on Thursday has approved the appointment of Mahendra Kumar Meena (IAS) as Private Secretary to Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Anupriya Patel in the Ministry if Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Meena has been appointed to the post at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever event occurs the earlier.

Meena is a 2014-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Anupriya Patel is serving as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry of India since 7 July 2021. She represents Mirzapur in Lok Sabha since 2014. She was the Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, from 2016 to 2019.
