New Delhi: Narain SN (IRTS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology on Wednesday. He was recommended for the Central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been selected for the appointment to the post under the central staffing scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Department of Biotechnology," the order noted.
Narain is an Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2011-batch. He is currently serving as Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager at Southern Railways in Indian Railways. An Engineering Graduate (BE in Mechanical) from PSG College of Technology, Tamil Nadu, Narain joined Indian Railways in August 2011 as IRTS Probationer and subsequently raised to the current position.
