New Delhi: The Government has approved the appointment of Nikhil Dhongari as Deputy Secretary in the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The posting is under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Dhongari is an Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS) officer of 2012-batch.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by Department of Personnel & Traning (DoPT), Dhongari was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Railways and has been selected to serve in the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). His tenure will be co-terminus with the mission and may be extended up to the admissible period under the Central Staffing Scheme or until further orders.

The DoPT has directed the Ministry of Railways to relieve Dhongari immediately so that he may assume charge of his new post without delay. As per Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines, an officer must join the assigned post within three weeks from the date of the appointment order, failing which debarment proceedings from the Central Staffing Scheme may be initiated.
