Niraj Kumar Bansod (IAS) appointed as PS to Amit Shah in Cooperation Ministry

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Niraj Kumar Bansod (IAS) as Private Secretary to the Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah in the Ministry of Cooperation. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Bansod has been appointed to the post for a period up to September 29, 2027 with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever earlier.

Bansod is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. Presently, he is serving as Director in the Cabinet Secretariat.

Further, the ACC has also approved the curtailment of the tenure of Bansod as Director in the Cabinet Secretariat, Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme. Prior to this, he was serving as Director Health Services (DHS) in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Chhattisgarh. Bansod hails from Maharashtra and has done B.E. in Production Engineering. He had served as CEO of Bilaspur Zila Panchayat and Sukma District Collector in his previous assignments.
