New Delhi: Niraj Kumar (IRS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MeitY) on Wednesday.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Kumar has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Kumar is a 2009-batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue. “He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting,” the order further added.
