P Shankar appointed as Private Secretary to NITI Aayog Member Dr VK Paul

Shankar’s tenure will be co-terminus with the assignment of Dr VK Paul or until further orders, whichever is earlier

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of P Shankar, a retired Senior Principal Private Secretary (Sr. PPS) from the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service (CSSS) cadre, as Private Secretary to Dr VK Paul, Member, NITI Aayog.

According to an official memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on July 23, 2025, the appointment is on a contract basis and carries the rank and pay equivalent to that of an Under Secretary (Level 11 in the Pay Matrix). Shankar’s tenure will be co-terminus with the assignment of Dr. V.K. Paul or until further orders, whichever is earlier. His appointment is effective from June 1, 2025.

The appointment was made in reference to a proposal from NITI Aayog dated September 20, 2024.
