PMO appointments: Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS) appointed Additional Secretary

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS) as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Punya Salila Srivastava (IAS) as Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). According to an official order, she has been appointed to the post on a lateral shift basis for the balance tenure of her Central deputation, ie up to November 2, 2023, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Srivastava is a 1993-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Home under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Hrisheekesh Arvind Modak (IAS) appointed DS in PMO

Additionally, Hrisheekesh Arvind Modak (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the PMO. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Modak has been appointed to the post on a lateral shift basis for the balance period of his deputation tenure of four years, ie, up to January 20, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Modak is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. He is currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). He holds a Master's Degree in Economics from Fergusson College. Prior to joining DoPT, he was serving in his home (Manipur) cadre.

Rajesh Kumar Sahu (IAS) appointed DS in PMO

In a separate order issued on the same day, the ACC has also approved the appointment of Rajesh Kumar Sahu (IRS) as Deputy Secretary in the PMO. He has also been appointed to the post on a lateral shift basis for the balance period of his deputation tenure of four years, ie, June 4, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Sahu is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2010 batch.

Prime Minister's Office (PMO)

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) consists of the immediate staff of the Prime Minister, as well as multiple levels of support staff reporting to the Prime Minister. The PMO was originally called the Prime Minister's Secretariat until 1977 when it was renamed during the Morarji Desai ministry. It is part of the government and is located in the South Block of the Secretariat Building.
