New Delhi: The Government of India has appointed Prashant Dubey, IDAS (2012), as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointment has been made following a recommendation from the Ministry of Defence, according to a Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) order issued on December 1, 2025.
Dubey will serve in the post for a period of four years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The DoPT has directed that he be relieved of his current responsibilities immediately to enable him to join the new assignment in New Delhi.
The order also reiterates the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet’s directive that officers must join their posts within three weeks from the date of issue of the DoPT appointment order. Failure to do so will lead to the initiation of debarment proceedings from the Central Staffing Scheme.
