New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Rajeev Singh Thakur (IAS) as Adviser to NITI Aayog. The appointment has been made in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary through a temporary upgradation of the post.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Tanning (DoPT) on Friday, the central deputation tenure of Thakur has been extended for a period of one year beyond December 3, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Thakur is a 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre. He has held key administrative positions in the past and brings extensive experience to his new role at NITI Aayog.

NITI Aayog, the premier policy institution of the Government of India, plays a crucial role in driving economic and developmental initiatives, providing key recommendations on governance and policy reforms.
