New Delhi: Rajesh Sharma (IFoS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Department of Land Resources under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking over charge of the post for a period up to August 31, 2026 (i.e. the date of attaining the age of superannuation) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sharma is an Indian Forest Service (IFoS) of the 2000-batch. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Department of Land Resources," the order added.

Department of Land Resources is a department under the Ministry of Rural Development. It is responsible for the sustainable development of rainfed cultivable and degraded lands through a participatory approach by involving the stakeholders in decision making.
