Rajiv Bansal (IAS) assumes charge as Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation

New Delhi: Rajiv Bansal (IAS) has assumed the charge of Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) on Friday, an official statement said. With his new assignment, Bansal has replaced Pradeep Singh Kharola (IAS), who superannuated on September 30.

Bansal is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of Nagaland cadre who was serving as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Air India prior to this appointment. He has held many important positions in the government including the posts of Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Secretary of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) and Joint Secretary of Department of Heavy Industry, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises.

He has also held several key positions in the government of Nagaland, including Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare of Nagaland, Commissioner and Secretary of the School Education Department of Nagaland, Commissioner and Secretary of Finance Department of Nagaland etc.
