New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the appointment of Ramandeep Chowdhary (IAS) as Director in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Chowdhary, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2008 batch from the Karnataka cadre, has been appointed for a tenure of five years from the date of assuming charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Chowdhary is a 2008-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre. He hails from Punjab and holds a B.Tech from IIT Delhi, along with higher studies from Pennsylvania State University and IGNOU.

He has held key positions in both the Central and Karnataka governments, including Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and Private Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation. In the state, he has served as Secretary in Planning and Commerce & Industries departments, besides handling district administration as Deputy Commissioner in Haveri and Koppal.
