New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved the appointment of Ratan Biswas (IAS) as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) for Tripura. He is a 2013-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Tripura cadre. Presently, he is posted as Secretary at Police Accountability Commission, Tripura.

According to the order issued on Friday, Biswas will assume charge at the Deputy Secretary level under the Central Staffing Scheme. His tenure will be effective from the date of assumption of charge and will continue up to December 31, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The DoPT has directed that Biswas be relieved of his present duties immediately to join the new assignment. As per the directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), an officer appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme is required to take charge within three weeks of the issuance of the order.
