The appointment was cleared following a proposal from the Ministry of Coal and is effective from the date of assumption of charge. Misra will serve in the role at the Director level, under a combined tenure of up to seven years on Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) and Private Secretary (PS) posts, or until further orders, or co-terminus with the tenure of the Minister, whichever is earlier.

In order to facilitate the new assignment, the ACC has also approved the curtailment of Misra’s existing tenure as Director in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, where he was serving under the Central Staffing Scheme.
