New Delhi: Rupesh Kumar Thakur (IAS) has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Labour & Employment on Tuesday. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Thakur has been selected for the appointment as Director in the Ministry of Labour & Employment under the central staffing scheme for a period of five years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He was recommended for the central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the Mb Labour & Employment," the order further read.

Profile of Rupesh Kumar Thakur (IAS)

Thakur is a 2006-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the AGMUT cadre. Presently, he is serving as Member (Admin) Delhi Jal Board (DJB). He is an Engineering Graduate (B. Tech in Civil Engineering) from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He has severed various important positions in his home cadre. Prior to joining the union government, he was serving as Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, Goa.
