New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sandeep Ahuja, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), 2015 batch, as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Jitin Prasada.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Ahuja’s appointment is at the level of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. His tenure will be for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge, or co-terminus with the tenure of the Minister, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The appointment has been made in relaxation of the mandatory cooling-off requirement, with the condition that upon cessation of his assignment as OSD to the Minister, Ahuja will revert to his parent cadre.
