Shaktikanta Das appointed as Principal Secretary-2 to Prime Minister

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shaktikanta Das, IAS (Retd.) as Principal Secretary-2 to the Prime Minister. His tenure will commence from the date he assumes office.

According to the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Das's appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shaktikanta Das, a 1980-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has previously held key positions in the government, including Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Secretary of Economic Affairs, and Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance. His vast administrative experience and policy expertise make him a significant addition to the Prime Minister’s team.
