Shalini Agnihotri (IPS) appointed DS in Department of School Education & Literacy

Himachal cadre IPS officer Shalini Agnihotri has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy

New Delhi: Shalini Agnihotri (IPS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy, under the Ministry of Education. Shalini is a 2012-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre and presently posted as Superintendent of Police Kangra at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued on May 28, Shalini was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. She will serve in her new role for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The DoPT has directed that she be relieved from her current duties with immediate effect to facilitate her timely joining. As per the ACC’s guidelines, officers appointed under the Central Staffing Scheme are required to join within three weeks of the issuance of the appointment order, failing which the process of debarment from the scheme may be initiated.
