New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Subrat Das as Secretary, Department of Posts under the Government of India.

Das, a 1991-batch Indian Postal Service (IPoS) officer, is currently serving as Member (Technology & Estates) in the Postal Services Board. He will take over from Vandita Kaul upon her superannuation.

Subrat Das is a senior Indian Postal Service officer of the 1991 batch with over three decades of administrative and operational experience in the postal and government sectors. He has recently been serving as Member (Technology) in the Postal Services Board, a position associated with policy-making and technology-driven modernisation of postal services.

Earlier, Das served as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) in key organisations such as the Ordnance Factory Board and was also entrusted with additional charge as CVO of Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Limited.

He has also held senior positions within the Department of Posts, including leadership roles in regional postal circles such as Chief Postmaster General-level assignments.

Das is academically trained in economics, holding an M.Phil degree, and is known for his experience in technology adoption, governance reforms, and institutional strengthening within the postal ecosystem.
