Suman Chandra (IAS) appointed as Deputy Secretary in MNRE

Maharashtra cadre IAS officer Suman Chandra (IAS) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE)

New Delhi: The Central Government has approved the appointment of Suman Chandra (IAS) as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). According to an order, issued on Friday, from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Chandra has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Chandra is a 2010-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Maharashtra cadre. Presently, she is posted as Managing Director of Haffkine Bio-Pharmaceutical Corporation Limited, a fully owned Govt of Maharashtra PSU, located at Parel, Mumbai. Prior to this, she was serving as Collector, Govt of Maharashtra. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy," the order further reads.
