Sunil Bhagwat Chaudhari (ICAS) has been selected for the appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs for a period of four years

New Delhi: Sunil Bhagwat Chaudhari (ICAS) has been selected for the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) in the Ministry of Finance. According to the order from the Department of Personnel and tanning (DoPT), he has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post until the further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sunil Bhagwat Chaudhari is an Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) officer of 2008-batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Expenditure.

Department of Economic Affairs

The Department of Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Finance is responsible for advice on economic issues having a bearing on internal and external aspects of the Indian economy including inflation, price control, foreign exchange management, official development assistance domestic finance and preparation of the union budget, bilateral and multilateral engagement with international financial institutions and other countries. The department is also the parent cadre maintains the cadre of the Indian economic service. It is divided into fourteen functional divisions (i) Administration, (ii) Aid, Accounts and Audit, (iii) Bilateral Cooperation (iv) Budget, (v) Currency and Coinage (vi) Economic Division, (vii) Financial Markets, (viii) Commodative Derivatives, (ix) FSLRC (x) FSDC, (xi) Infrastructure and Energy, (xii) Investment, (xiii) Multilateral Institutions and (xiv) Multilateral Relations
