Sushma Chauhan (IAS) appointed as DS in Home Ministry

New Delhi: Sushma Chauhan (IAS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Chauhan has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Chauhan is a 2009-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre. She was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. "She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs," the order further read.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is a ministry of the Government of India. As an interior ministry of India, it is mainly responsible for the maintenance of internal security and domestic policy. The Home Ministry is headed by Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah.
