Three officers appointed as Deputy Secretaries in Defence Ministry

The Govt has announced the appointment of three officers from different services as Deputy Secretaries in the Department of Defence

New Delhi: The Government of India has announced the appointment of three officers from different services as Deputy Secretaries in the Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence, under the Central Staffing Scheme.

According to official orders, Pawan Kumar, IA&AS (2014 batch), who was recommended for Central deputation by the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, has been selected for the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Defence, Delhi. He will serve in the position for a period of four years from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Similarly, Vikas Khera, IRTS (2014 batch), recommended by the Ministry of Railways, has also been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Defence under the same scheme and tenure conditions.

In addition, Rahul Raja, IRS (C&IT) (2014 batch), recommended for Central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment to the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Defence, Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme.

All three officers have been directed to be relieved of their current duties immediately to take up their new assignments in the Ministry of Defence.

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative capacity and inter-service coordination within the Ministry of Defence through the Central Staffing Scheme.
