New Delhi: Ubhap Sengraj (IRS) has been appointed as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Sports Authority of India (SAI). According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), he has been appointed to the post for an initial period of three years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Senraj is an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of 2005-batch. He is currently serving as Additional Commissioner of Customs, Delhi. Previously, he has held as Joint Commissioner of Customs, Delhi.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is the apex national sports body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It is responsible for the development of sport in India. SAI has 2 Sports Academic institutions, 11 SAI Regional Centres, 14 Centre of Excellence, 56 Sports Training Centres and 20 Special Area Games.
