New Delhi: Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Durga Shanker Mishra (IAS) has been given another one-year extension on his current role on Friday. Mishra, whose one-year extension to serve in his current post in UP was set to expire on December 31, has been given the tenure extension till December 2023. He has been serving on the post since January 2021.

Mishra is a 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. Prior to this, he was the Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary and Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.

Mishra is Graduate (B Tech) in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur. He also holds an MBA degree in international business from the University of Western Sydney. Mishra also holds a postgraduate diploma in public policy from the International Institute of Social Studies, The Hague. In addition, Mishra holds a postgraduate diploma in human resource management.
