Kumar, who currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility for a period of six months from the date of assumption of charge, or until the appointment of a regular CVO at NHAI, or until further orders—whichever is earlier.

The decision follows a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, which was approved by the Competent Authority, as per the official memorandum dated June 30.
