Vivek Aggarwal (IAS) gets 6 months extension as Director of FIU-India

The Central Govt has approved the proposal for tenure extension of Vivek Aggarwal (IAS) as Director of FIU-India for six months

New Delhi: IAS officer Vivek Aggarwal, who is holding additional charge as Director of Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-India), has been given a tenure extension for a period of six months.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue for extension of entrustment of the additional charge of the post of Director of FIU-India to Vivek Aggarwal (IAS).

Aggarwal has been holding the additional charge as Director of FIU-India since January 2023.

Aggarwal is a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance.

Financial Intelligence Unit – India is an organisation under the Department of Revenue, Government of India which collects financial intelligence about offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
