Vivek Aggarwal (IAS) gets another 6 months extension as Director of FIU - India

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of additional charge for Vivek Aggarwal (IAS) as Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND). The Department of Revenue had proposed the extension, which has been granted for a period of six months, effective from September 30, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Aggarwal, who currently serves as Additional Secretary in the Department of Revenue, has been handling the responsibilities of Director at FIU-IND since January 2023. He is a 1994 batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre.

The FIU-IND, which operates under the Ministry of Finance, is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information related to suspicious financial activities. It plays a key role in safeguarding the integrity of India’s financial system.
