Yuvraj Ravindra Patil (IRTS) appointed as Deputy Secretary in Lokpal

The Central government has selected Yuvraj Ravindra Patil (IRTS) for appointment as Deputy Secretary in Lokpal under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)

New Delhi: Yuvraj Ravindra Patil (IRTS) has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Lokpal under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT). According to an order issued by the DoPT, Patil has been selected for the appointment under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years with effect from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Patil is an Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of the 2012 batch. He was recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Railways. "He may kindly be relieved of his duties immediately with instructions to take up his new assignment in the LOKPAL under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT)," the order added.

A Lokpal is an anti-corruption authority or body of ombudsman who represents the public interest in India. The current Chairperson of Lokpal is Pinaki Chandra Ghose. The Lokpal has jurisdiction over the Central government to inquire into allegations of corruption against its public functionaries and for matters connected to corruption.
