Adani Green commissions 50 MW solar power plant in UP’s Chitrakoot

New Delhi: Adani Solar Energy Chitrakoot One Limited (ASECOL), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has commissioned a 50 MW solar power plant in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh (UP), the company said in an official statement on Tuesday. The plant has a 25-year-long Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) at Rs 3.07/kwh. "This commissioning takes AGEL's total operational renewable capacity to 3,520 MW, a step closer to its vision of 25 GW capacity by 2025," said the statement. This plant is the second solar power plant that Adani Green has commissioned in Chitrakoot since January, when it had commissioned a 25 MW solar power plant. 

With the successful commissioning of this plant, AGEL has an operational solar generation capacity of over 3 GW. Adani Green has a total renewable capacity of 15,240 MW, including 11,720 MW that have been awarded and are at different stages of implementation. "With this 50 MW, AGEL marks the beginning of this year's commissioning plan with full commitment from its team, amidst continuing challenges of the COVID-19 outbreak," said the statement.

"Like all its other assets, the newly commissioned plant will be managed by the Adani Group's intelligent Energy Network Operation Centre (ENOC) platform which has continuously demonstrated and aided Adani Green in achieving a superior operational performance of its entire renewable portfolio spread across diverse locations in India.
AGEL, through its successive projects, has continued to integrate the objective of sustainability with economic development. Thereby, creating jobs as well as enabling the de-carbonisation in line with India's commitment at United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris and taking it a step closer towards Climate Leadership," said the statement.
