JSPL’s steel output rises by 16% in April-June quarter

The company also posted a 16 percent rise in its sales at 1.51 MT during the said quarter, the company said in a regulatory filing

New Delhi: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd's (JSPL) steel production rose by 16 percent to 1.57 million tonnes (MT) in the April-June period of the ongoing financial year, the company said in a regulatory filing on Monday. JSPL had recorded an output of 1.35 MT in the same period a year ago.

Sales rise by 16%

The company also posted a 16 percent rise in its sales at 1.51 MT during the said quarter, the document said. "The quarterly production and sales of steel and related by-products stood at 1.35 MT and 1.30 MT respectively in Q1FY'19," it said.

With a total production of about 10 MTPA in India, JSPL has operational steel making united in Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand.
