New Delhi: JSW Energy's renewable energy (RE) arm, JSW Renew Energy Limited, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for supplying 540 MW out of the total awarded capacity of 810 MW of blended wind power project. JSW Energy had won the capacity earlier in September 2020 in a tariff-based competitive bid invited by SECI for setting up of 2,500 MW ISTS-connected blended wind power projects under tranche IX.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Monday, JSW Energy said, "JSW Renew Energy Limited, wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Future Energy Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the Contracted Capacity of 540 MW out of total awarded capacity of 810 MW."

"This is the single largest PPA for wind/blended wind category in the industry, and marks the foray of the company into Wind/blended wind energy generation segment," said JSW Energy. JSW Future Energy Limited (formerly JSW Solar Limited), a 100 percent subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, had received Letter of Awards (LoA) for total Blended Wind capacity of 810 MW from SECI in a tariff-based competitive bid invited by SECI for setting up of 2,500 MW ISTS-connected Blended Wind Power Projects (Tranche-IX).
