REC’s subsidiary RECPDCL hands over MPPTPL to Adani Transmission

New Delhi: REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited has handed over the project-specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) formed for the construction of Transmission Project viz., 'MP Power Transmission Package–II Limited' to Adani Transmission Limited at Jabalpur on November 1.

Adani Transmission Limited has been the successful bidder of the Intra State Transmission Project of the government of Madhya Pradesh and RECPDCL, the Bid Process Coordinator.

The SPV has been handed over by RECPDCL's Executive Director & Joint CEO TSC Bosh to Adani Transmission Limited's President Vivek Singla in the presence of MPPCL's Managing Director Sunil Tiwari, MP Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Co Ltd's Managing Director Kiran Gopal Vaska (IAS), RECPDCL's Additional CEO Hariharan and other senior officials of RECPDCL, MPPTCL and Adani Transmission.

The selection of Adani Transmission was carried out through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) for the selection of transmission developers in line with the standard bidding documents and guidelines thereof as notified by the Ministry of Power.

The project comprises construction of around 870 Km of 220 KV and 132 KV transmission lines along with associated 18 Power sub-stations of cumulative transmission capacity of 2736 MVA. The project, to be implemented by Adani Transmission Limited in 24 months, would facilitate the overall improvement of the power supply position in Madhya Pradesh.
